Ryan Daffurn | Partrick Fire - Sonoma Side
Started going through my photos last night from Monday, the first day of our Sonoma/Napa County fires. It’s been crazy, scary, and I’m so sad to hear/see that many of my friends and their families have lost their homes. My family and our homes are safe. We are very lucky while so many others have not been so fortunate. This is an image of the Partrick Fire on the Sonoma side, Wood Valley Road off Lovall Valley Road in the eastern mountains of the town of Sonoma. This fire was and is still burning in the hills above my Dads house. I’ve never seen anything like this before, watching this fire escalate and quickly move through this valley on Monday was one of the scariest things I’ve ever witnessed. My thoughts are with all the victims of these fires and I can’t say enough thank you’s to all the service men and women and community that have come together to help deal with the events that have unfolded over the last few days and unfortunately it’s still far from over. We watched the hills of Sonoma burn last night from the valley floor and hope these fires are contained sometime soon. We have dealt with fires here before but never on this level.
My brother, brother-in-law and I watched a fire truck drive up a dirt road right into the heart of the fire in this image and I’ve never been so proud of the courageous fire-men and women we have to help protect us in times like this. So much respect for everyone out there helping us deal with the disaster that has hit us right in our backyard. I am humbled beyond measure, thank you thank you thank you!!!!
