Sonoma Fire Stories represents a community reflection of the October 2017 Northern California wildfires. Here you may upload and share with others photographs, writings, videos, and other documentation of your experience during and after this devastating ordeal. This site aims to preserve the countless stories of loss, gratitude, and resiliency that will emerge in the weeks and months to come.
When uploading your content please include your name and contact information, title, if any, and the date and place it was created. Only upload content that you personally own or have permission to share on this site. The more we can impart to one another, the easier it will be to generate the personal resolve and community support necessary to rebuild our neighborhoods and livelihoods in this cherished place we call home.
Sonoma Fire Stories is a joint project of Sonoma Valley Museum of Art, Sonoma Community Center, La Luz and Valley of the Moon magazine. You may contact the site administrators on the contact page.
Additionally, submissions to this site will also be considered for inclusion in an exhibition at Sonoma Valley Museum of Art on the one-year anniversary of the fires. The exhibition will continue the dialog on this site and provide a safe space for community members to reflect and come together. We invite you to contact the site administrators if you have any questions regarding the exhibition. If you do not wish to be considered for the exhibition, simply click the box in the submission form to indicate your preference.
